ASSIGNMENT AND SOLUTION

Sweco has assessed sustainable and integrated solutions so that Prestegårdsjorda can be a functional and user-friendly district. The area contains land for housing, offices, public functions, business park and a new football stadium. We have drafted two alternative planning initiatives for the area. The plans will be used as input to the control process in the next phase.

We will reinforce the area's identity
Prestegårdsjorda will become an urban district in Alta with safe urban spaces and varied buildings. We are taking this identity into account as we integrate a step-by-step development in the project. It is important to perform a good location analysis and identify existing qualities and challenges. It is important for us to address and develop the qualities of the area so that they create a sense of belonging and a connection with adjacent areas and target points in Alta. We have also placed focus on ensuring economic predictability for all parties.

Sweco possesses multidisciplinary skills
Ever since the draft phase, we have worked closely in a multidisciplinary team. This team comprises architects, landscape architects, urban, road and traffic planners as well as specialists with expertise in acoustics and geotechnics. We have drafted plans in 2-D and 3-D with good principle solutions for roads and streets, squares and urban spaces, green structures and stormwater management. The plans also contain solutions for land utilisation and building structure.
