Sweco has designed a new factory in Singapore as part of REC's large wafer plant. The factory is a complete plant for the regeneration of cutting slurry from solar cell wafer production. The method is a non-chemical process which is both environmentally friendly and sustainable.
Building and structural engineering, building physics, automation, space management, layout and logistics, construction follow-up
We have been responsible for concept studies, budget, project planning, all system design, automation and control logic, factory and tank storage layout, 3-D modelling for all disciplines, documentation for prefabrication building, as well as follow-up. Sweco supplied building documentation for all disciplines, assisted in the contracting of contractors, coordination and follow-up on the building site.
Concept, process design and space management were carried out for a production hall of 130 x 40 m, including technical buildings, tank farms and laboratories. Sweco's project teams in Mandal, Kristiansand, Cork and Singapore worked online in a multidisciplinary 3-D model and document management system.

450° drying vessels, centrifuges, nibblers, mono and triple evaporators, membrane filters, cyclone classifiers, compressors, feed water tank, hot oil boiler, condenser systems for energy and process systems, pumps and tanks.
Processing systems at the factory
Product and sidestreams from production, solvents, glycol, eluate, sidestreams, heating oil, cooling and ice water, steam and hot oil, condensate, sidestream and water treatment.
