Transport and communications

A key element in a city’s attractiveness is the ability of its residents to travel safely and efficiently. Sweco’s infrastructure experts have what it takes to design transport systems that simplify people’s everyday lives. By designing everything from roadways, railways and underground metros to bridges and travel centres, we improve accessibility in tomorrow’s communities and cities.

Road and streets

Our cities of the future need to have functional infrastructure – combined with good design and accessibility. Sweco performs best when involved in interdisciplinary assignments and engaged in developing robust transport solutions, which provide good accessibility.

When it comes to road projects, we are particularly keen to work closely with our design and landscape experts in these disciplines. We use BIM models from the initial project phase onwards in order to secure optimal cooperation and coordination. This allows us to be more aware of any subsequent challenges that could arise during a project.

Sweco covers all the phases involved in road and street planning, from early concept development to the building planning stage. Our engineers are highly skilled in respect of road planning and possess plenty of experience relating to complicated, interdisciplinary assignments for several different public bodies.
