Transport and communications

A key element in a city’s attractiveness is the ability of its residents to travel safely and efficiently. Sweco’s infrastructure experts have what it takes to design transport systems that simplify people’s everyday lives. By designing everything from roadways, railways and underground metros to bridges and travel centres, we improve accessibility in tomorrow’s communities and cities.

Port and marina structures

Safe and efficient harbours are an important part of our modern and sustainable society. Sweco plans and designs ports and shipping lanes. We also take part in vision processes and planning when old port areas change function and are opened to the general public.

For coastal areas, ports are an integral and natural part of society. Proximity to water creates vital urban environments and the potential for recreation. However, port operations have to develop in harmony with urban development. By taking a long-term approach from the offset, Sweco creates safe and flexible installations that can meet future requirements.

Sweco's involvement also comprises landscape architecture and environmental impact assessments, as ports often have a considerable impact on their marine environment. Thanks to Sweco's diverse expertise, we have access to the specialised competencies required at the different stages of a project.
