Acoustics, noise and vibrations

Sound affects us in many different ways. Noise is unwanted sound which has a negative impact on our health and quality of life. Conversely, sound environments which have been specially designed and carefully planned can produce a sense of well-being and an environmental boost.

A good sound environment is one where all unwanted, disturbing noises have been reduced to a minimum. Sweco's experts help clients comply with official requirements relating to noise levels and good sound environments. We exploit and adapt the acoustics of premises according to their intended use.

Sweco develops cost-effective acoustic solutions with the right output for each individual situation. We are involved in designing and planning the acoustics and sound for various types of building projects, including monitoring sound, noise and vibrations, i.e. industrial and traffic noise. Our monitoring methods comply with the guidelines laid down by Standards Norway and the Norwegian Environment Agency.
