Environmental consulting

It is inevitable that modern cities impact on the environment, although the way in which they affect their surroundings can be minimised. Sweco's environmental specialists are engaged in predicting the importance of climate change for the natural environment and society. We propose measures which can reduce the environmental burden and help society to adapt to changing climatic conditions. The sooner we focus on the environmental aspects of a project, the more we can influence them.

Impact assessment and planning

The population growth in and around our major cities has resulted in further development of the road and railway networks. At Sweco, we have the knowledge and expertise to assess the impact of these developments.

Sweco has first-hand knowledge about impact analyses from Handbook 712, which specifies how to address priced and non-priced matters. The regulations relating to impact assessment contained in the Norwegian Planning and Building Act stipulates a reporting framework for relevant measures.

We have assessed the impact of a number of different projects in several different fields, including wind power, HEP, municipal and development plans and plans associated with roads and railways. Our specialists, who are highly knowledgeable about the official requirements, manage this type of work for our clients.
