Planning and architecture

Half of the global population currently lives in towns and cities. Sweco's land planners and landscape architects are involved in developing everything from whole city blocks to smaller areas. Irrespective of the job, it is our aim to create optimal environments where people can live, work and thrive. We work closely with other specialists in order to realise solutions which take into account economic considerations, the environment and people.

Socio-economic analyses

In a sustainable society, we look after existing resources and benefit from them in the most optimal way. Through socio-economic analyses we identify how society’s resources can create the greatest possible benefit for the population. Analyses can also provide answers regarding the extent to which the planned changes are economically profitable or not.

Sweco’s social economists assist, for example, with cost-benefit calculations, impact and concept selection assessments, valuation and preference assessments and method development.

Our experts use their socio-economic expertise in combination with Sweco’s other technical expertise, for instance within social studies and planning disciplines. They can contribute to all types of projects, from major investment projects that require extensive socio-economic analyses, to the assessment of concrete measures in smaller projects.
