Planning and architecture

Half of the global population currently lives in towns and cities. Sweco's land planners and landscape architects are involved in developing everything from whole city blocks to smaller areas. Irrespective of the job, it is our aim to create optimal environments where people can live, work and thrive. We work closely with other specialists in order to realise solutions which take into account economic considerations, the environment and people.

Area planning subject to the Norwegian Planning and Building Act

Area plans are designed to secure existing assets and create new ones which address ecological, social and economic sustainability. Sweco's consultants draw up firm plans guaranteeing the economic sustainability of clients' projects.

We prepare all types of area plans in compliance with the Planning and Building Act, i.e. municipal sector plans, area and detailed development plans and applications for dispensation from current development plans. We adapt our specialist teams to suit our clients' needs and to follow them up closely throughout the planning process.

Good process management and communications ensure optimal results in terms of time, costs, resource utilisation and quality. Our overall expertise on area planning is based on clear management and a thorough understanding of the complexity of our assignments. We possess long-standing experience on planning assignments relating to area and location development, the development of residential and business properties and assignments of all types for the transport sector.
